"Cooling Tower Water Sterilization Systems "

AUV-CT Series

Effective use of ultraviolet in cooling towers eliminates the need for expensive and hazardous biocides. UV results in more complete microorganism destruction and yields very low plate counts in recirculating water, instead of the surges in microorganism counts with slug feeding of biocides. UV also decreases maintenance and improves operator safety. There are no adverse operator health effects.

Using UV to service a portion of the total header flow can greatly reduce bacterial levels and hinder algae growth in the tower basin and wet deck areas. UV limits the potential for biomass formation in the condenser loop. With UV, bionutrients in the water are reduced and, in turn, so are biocide feed and application requirements, such as priming of feed lines, calibrating and monitoring of timer feeds, slug dosing, handling and storage.

UV is well-suited for recirculation loops of many types, including condenser, closed or semi-closed loops, air washers and storage tanks. Systems using UV also help protect cooling tower piping and heat-transfer areas from corrosion, scale formation and biofouling.
