AFM Upgrade Kit
nPoint introduces an ultra-precision, closed-loop scanner available in an easy to integrate kit for large sample stage AFMs such as the Dimension 3100 from Digital Instruments-Veeco*. This reasonably priced AFM upgrade facilitates lithography, manipulation and metrology applications by providing closed-loop functionality with accompanying precise feature location. The kit provides accurate positioning, improved linearity and extremely low out-of-plane motion.
The nPoint closed-loop upgrade can be used with your existing AFM in two ways, greatly expanding the versatility of your instrument and the variety of experiments that can be performed:
Scanning: as a precision X-Y sample scanner in conjunction with the AFM controller;
in this use the AFM scanner is disabled for imaging, and;
Positioning: as a precision positioner; in this use the existing AFM scanner
is enabled for imaging.
Further, nPoint’s closed-loop AFM upgrade can also be controlled separately
from the AFM environment, enabling a variety of other experiments.
